Simon’s current role is to Deliver Reliable and Repeatable Project Controls for BAE Systems Australia.
Originally an aircraft mechanic, he has worked on the C-130 Hercules, F18 Hornet and BAE Hawk. Like most people that work in Project Controls, it found him, rather than him finding it.
He got tired of smelling of jet fuel, and ‘happened’ upon Project Controls as a Cost Schedule Analyst. He has since worked Project Controls for BAE for 13 years, through Hornet, Hawk, and the Aerospace Business Unit. He also had the ‘one-of-a-kind’ opportunity to manage the customer-interactive Fleet Management Cell for the 33 jet BAE Hawk fleet, working directly with Wing/Squadron and CASG, in a tripartite ‘best-for-capability’ arrangement.
He now has the rare and unique privilege to support and enable the Project Controls community within BAE Systems Australia to be and do their best, a responsibility he does not take lightly or for granted.
Simon is a BAE PM Fellow, of which there are only 50 out of the 80,000-odd employees. As a passionate Systems Thinker, he strives to find ‘Simple Solutions to Complex Problems’.
