Tony Britt

General Counsel - Holding Redlich

Tony has experience in a number of industry sectors including civil construction, petrochemical and water projects. Tony has worked for a number of major civil contractors, including John Holland and Macmahon Construction, and spent several years with BP Oil in Australia and the Middle East.

During Tony’s time in the construction industry Tony was involved in contract drafting, negotiation, administration and disputes relating to several major infrastructure projects including roadworks, bridgeworks and water treatment plants.

He has experience in preparing design and construct contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, consultancy agreements, joint venture agreements and various other project documents.

Tony is experienced at assisting clients navigate construction contracts through the various stages of the project from tendering, through delivery to completion and post completion.

Tony also assists clients resolve contractual disputes, including by negotiation, contractual claim processes, statutory claims processes such as under security of payment legislation or by mediation or litigation.

Tony’s has acted for clients in the Supreme Court of NSW, the Supreme Court of Victoria and the District Court of New South Wales.

Tony also has many years of experience in running training courses on contracts, where he finds that his hands on experience enables him to understand the issues that project staff face.
